Quick Healthy Recipes for Christmas

Festival brings in loads of changes in the eating pattern especially if one follows diet for weight loss.Christmas is the time where there is double celebration. Below mentioned are few healthy recipes which you can follow along with the diet for weight loss, these will take care of the diet in the festive season.

Strawberry Buttermilk Doughnuts (Serves 3)

Strawberry Buttermilk Doughnuts


  • ½ cup wheat flour
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1/3 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 1 small eggs
  • ¼ cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ tablespoon strawberry pulp
  • 3-4 fresh strawberries, diced very small
  • A pinch of salt
  • A pinch nutmeg powder


  • ¼  cup fresh strawberries, diced very small
  • 1 teaspoon strawberry pulp
  • 1 Tablespoon powdered sugar


  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Lightly grease cake dounut pans with non stick cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl combine wheat flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg powder. Mix until it blends well.
  • In another bowl combine the melted butter, egg, buttermilk, vanilla, and strawberry pulp.
  • Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined, and then fold in diced strawberries. Carefully spoon mixture into doughnut pans, filling 3/4 full.
  • Bake for 7 to 9 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool on a wire rack. Then make the glaze while the doughnuts are cooling.
  • In a bowl mix strawberries (finely chopped), strawberry pulp and add powdered sugar and beat until smooth. You can drizzle the glaze over the doughnuts, or dip them into the glaze.
  • Eat right away because these doughnuts are soooooo delicious.

Christmas Pinwheel Wraps (Serves 3)

Pinwheel Wraps


  • ¼ cup hung curd (beat well)
  • 1 whole red bell pepper (Deseeded and diced finely)
  • 1 whole green bell pepper (Deseeded and diced finely)
  • 2 spring onions (sliced thin)
  • ½ tsp black pepper ( freshly grounded)
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • 2 Tortillas
  • A pinch of salt


  • Take a non stick pan and slightly cook both the sides of tortillas, Keep it aside.
  • In a bowl, mix the hung curd. Black pepper, mixed herbs and Salt.
  • Divide the mixture equally among the tortillas and spread into a single layer all over the surface of each tortilla.
  • Sprinkle on the red and green bell pepper, as well as the green onion. Roll them up nice and tight.
  • Place pour equal quantity of the drink into each of the salt rimmed glasses.
  • Slice into 1/2 to 3/4 inch slices and serve on a platter.
