Healthy Recipes For Holi
#1. Paneer Pickups
For Marination
- 1/4 cup Coriander
- 1 Table_Sp Peanuts
- 1/4 Table_Sp Lemon juice
- 1 Piece Green chillies
- 1/2 Table_Sp Low fat curd
- Sugar As per taste
- Salt As per taste
Other Ingredients
- 100 grams Low fat paneer
- 1/8 Cup Boiled Corns
- 1 Table_Sp Onions
- 1/2 Table_Sp Coriander
- 1/2 Table_Sp Milk
- 1 Tea_Sp Oil
- Sugar As per taste
- Salt As per taste
Method:
For the Marination
- Blender all the ingredients except curds.
- Remove the blended mixture in a bowl and add curds to it and mix well.
Paneer Pickups
- Cut the Paneer into 4 Equal pieces.
- Marinate the paneer pieces in the above prepared coating mixture for 30 mins (Remove 1 tbspn of coating mixture aside).
- Blend together, corn, sugar, salt and 1 tbspn coating mixture.
- In a pan, add very little oil, saute onion, add corn mixture, milk and coriander leaves let it cook well for 2 mins, remove from flame and let it cool.
- Divide it into 2 equal parts.
- One one paneer piece, evenly spread the filling, place another piece of Paneer above it. Do the same for other paneer pieces.
- In the pan, saute paneer pieces using the remaining oil, until golden brown on both the sides.
- Your Paneer pickups are ready to serve.

#2. Steamed Dalia and Oats Pinwheels
Ingredients:
- 1/4 Cup Broken wheat
- 1/8 Cup Oats
- 1/8 Cup Whole wheat flour (Laddoo aata)
- 1/8 Tea_Sp Green chillies
- 1/8 Tea_Sp Ginger paste
- 1/8 Tea_Sp Garlic paste
- 2 Table_Sp Bottle gourd
- 1 Table_Sp Sesame seeds
- 1/2 Tea_Sp Mustard Seeds
- 4-6 Curry leaves
- 1 Tea_Sp Coriander leaves
- 1 Tea_Sp Oil
- As per taste Salt
- A Pinch Turmeric powder
Method:
- Pressure cook daliya up to 3 whistle and then let it cool.
- Dry roast oats and Powder it.
- In a bowl mix dalia , oats , wheat flour , ginger paste , garlic paste , green chilly paste , turmeric, salt, 1 teaspoon sesame seeds, bottle gourd.
- Prepare the dough with by adding water slowly and let it rest for 5-10 mins.
- Divide the mixture into 3 parts. Now apply oil on your palm and taking each part in between palm and roll them in cylindrical shape.
- Now boil water in a boiler. Once the water starts boiling place the rolls into a plate and placing the plate into the boiler let it steam for 15 mins.
- The best way to check if its steamed well is prick it with a toothpick and if it comes out clean then you can proceed to next step. Let it cool for sometime.
- Cut the rolls into equal pinwheel shapes and keep them aside.
- Take oil in a pan, put sesame seeds, mustard seeds and let it crackle, add chopped curry leaves.
- Now add all the pinwheels in the pan and mix it properly.
- Garnish it with coriander leaves and serve hot.
** Holi tip : Steam the balls and keep. Can cook it 10 mins before serving so that it saves cooking time and you can enjoy hot meal after playing Holi.
