  1. Cat cow (Bitilasana)
    Warms up and stretches the spine. A great morning stretch for your back, this pose opens up the entire spine.
    How to do it: Get down on all fours with your back parallel to the floor. Inhale and drop your belly while looking up at the ceiling, arching your back. Exhale while curling your spine and looking in towards your belly, like a cat.
  1. Downward Dog (Adho Mukha Svanasana)
    A full body stretch that stretches out the back, spine, arms and legs. It opens up the back of the body giving a rush of energy.
    How to do it: From a neutral pose on your fours, tuck your toes, lift your knees and lift your hips up high. Bring your ears between your arms and look down at your thighs. Stretch your back and arms to put your heels on the floor.
  1. Seated Forward Fold (Paschimottanasna)
    A standing position that signifies strength and power, this asana is great for digestion and simulation of the internal organs
    How to do it: Start seated upright with your legs in front of you. From there, crawl your palms down your legs and toward your toes. If you can’t reach your toes, let your palms rest on your shins or bend your knees. Hold this pose for three breaths before walking your palms back to an upright, seated position.

  1. Triangle Pose (Trikonasana)
    One of the classic yoga poses, Trikonasana provides a sense of grounding and stability. Gives a burst of power to the legs and core and opens up the chest cavity.
    How to do it: Keep legs 3-4 feet apart with feet parallel pointing ahead. Point the left foot out to the left and lower down sideways to touch your left hand to the left foot. Raise the other hand up towards the ceiling and look up. Aim to get your chest perpendicular to the floor.
  1. Child Pose (Balasana)
    Child pose is for immense relaxation and surrender. It can be done at any point during the practice or the day to take a moment off from the present.
    How to do it: From downward dog, gently bring your knees to the ground and to either edge of your mat (this helps with opening up the lower back), and take five deep, restorative breaths with your forehead resting on your mat.
